Earthly Delights

It's Hallow's Mass
Samhain
A night that never ends
The dimming light
Abends
A day of dark ascend
Displacing it sublime
When ghosts come out to dine
Irreverently divine
To dine in hell sublime

Drawing in the creeping doom
Emanating from the tombs
All the shadows seem to move
As if forming things taboo
They're forming things taboo

They walk the night in shadows gloom
Searching, pleading to consume
A single night
Earthly delights
Then to darkness they resume

The timing is a must
They are not hollow husks
They are not earthly things
Their breath is nasty musk
To dark they dearly cling
Tonight they run amok
They run!
Amok!

The witching hour is drawing near
The Silent Supper waiting here
A generous feast, a bounty true
A delicious view
The spirits knew
For them a stew
For them a brew
It brings renew
For them it brings renew
It brings renew

Let them eat
All the meat
All the wine
Let them dine
Leave them be
Leave them free
They will leave
When sated be
When full they be
Then they will flee
Yes, they will flee

They walk the night in shadows gloom
Searching, pleading to consume
A single night
Earthly delights
Then to darkness they resume
Then to darkness they resume
They resume

The sun begins to show
The shadows slowly fade
The food appears untouched
Although consumed by shades

The food it is now a curse
For living it brings reverse
For it's now a lifeless bane
All the food completely drained

I'm trying to explain
To eat you must abstain
Or live in death's domain
And return here next Samhain
As a specter or a mane
Partaking most profane
Most profane
Most profane

They walk the night in shadows gloom
Searching, pleading to consume
A single night
Earthly delights
Then to darkness they resume
Then to darkness they resume
To their darkness they resume
