Lyrics

The flickering lamps stare down at me
And line the crowded paths
Skyscrapers flash the setting sun
The weaving traffic laughs
The crowded tunnels breathe with lights
The red glares blink and grin
A sea of reddened eyes ahead
A tide that we must swim

An Escher maze made by a djinn
Twists and turns us round
Lights blind and glare and mesmerize
We truly are spellbound
The signs above, they make no sense
They only just confound
We're left to guess and divinate
Our journey is homebound

The drive is long and patience short
The conversations ebb
As clockwork landscapes wanders past
An esoteric web
We have lost all sense of time
Hours turn to memory
We trust the path ahead with
Hypnotic reverie
And hope our journey ends
In sweet serenity

The sun is setting in the west
The reddish glow ablaze
Clears a path in front of us
Illuminates the maze
We find the route we sought is there
Ahead in fading light
The glowing lines will lead us home
Into the darkening night
The glowing star will lead us home
Into the darkening night

An Escher maze made by a djinn
Twists and turns us round
Lights blind and glare and mesmerize
We truly are spellbound
The sun is setting in the west
Illuminates the way
The glowing lines will lead us now
Out of this Escher maze
Out of this Escher maze

We find the route we sought is there
Ahead in reddish blaze
The glowing path will lead us home
Out of this Escher maze

The blazing sun will lead us home
Ahead in reddish blaze
The glowing path will lead us home
Out of this Escher maze

The blazing sun will lead us home
Ahead ion fading light
The glowing star will lead us where
we see our home in sight
We trust the path ahead with
Hypnotic reverie
And hope our journey ends
In sweet serenity
In sweet serenity

And hope our journey ends
In sweet serenity
Sweet serenity
